A revolutionary approach to mental, emotional, and physical wellness

What is The Orland Method?

The Orland Method is an innovative approach to mental and emotional wellness that recognizes the deep connection between the mind and body. By blending the therapeutic benefits of verbal counseling with personalized yoga sequences, this method targets the emotional, cognitive, and physical aspects of healing, offering a holistic approach to mental health.

Each session begins with a one-on-one conversation to explore the client's unique challenges, emotions, and goals. With this information, a tailored yoga flow is developed to address the specific presenting concerns, whether it's stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, or a general need for self-discovery and balance. These yoga sequences are designed to promote relaxation, release physical tension, and encourage the integration of therapeutic insights gained from the talking portion.

The beauty of this method lies in its dual-focus. While talk therapy provides the space for emotional release and cognitive restructuring, the yoga practice helps facilitate deeper physical relaxation, mindfulness, and mind-body connection, reinforcing the mental work done in the therapy session. It's a full-spectrum healing experience that taps into both the psychological and physical components of well-being.

The benefits of The Orland Method are far-reaching: clients will not only gain insight and coping strategies but will also leave feeling lighter, more centered, and in better touch with their bodies. This method empowers individuals to actively engage in their healing process, strengthening both their mind and body in ways that promote long-term wellness.

The Orland Method is not just therapy; it’s a personalized journey toward total mental and physical well-being. Ideal for those seeking a deeper, more integrated form of healing, this method provides an unparalleled opportunity for personal growth and lasting change.

Meet Hannah Orland

Helping people achieve a sense of fulfillment and live by their values is why I do what I do. I am a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling from the Chicago School of Psychology. I have worked as a mental health therapist in San Francisco with the Liberation Institute, a non-profit community mental health organization, as well as at Genesis Clinical Services in the suburbs of Chicago. I feel strongly about combining mindful movement/yoga and more traditional, Western mental health techniques to achieve more balance in our day-to-day and build toward a flourishing future. That is why I created The Orland Method.

Outside of the office/studio, you can typically find me cycling or lifting weights, taking a long walk along the lakefront, enjoying a delicious dinner at one of Chicago’s numerous restaurants, eating a pastry, pursuing a new creative endeavor, or just reading and hanging out with my cat Aubergine on my couch.
